Discover the world around us through engaging and interactive learning. Explore what Project-Based Learning is and how it empowers students to understand their community and beyond.

What is Project-Based Learning?

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional approach where students learn by investigating authentic questions and solving real-world problems. Over an extended period, students actively explore a topic and create a meaningful project to demonstrate their learning.

How PBL influences student learning

Project-Based Learning offers numerous benefits for students, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for their learning journey. It encourages active participation and promotes critical thinking, allowing students to analyze information and solve problems effectively.

PBL also develops collaboration skills, as students work together to achieve common goals, increasing their engagement and motivation. This approach connects classroom learning to real-world experiences, making education relevant and impactful. Additionally, it supports communication and creativity, empowering students to express their ideas and innovate.

Our geography project theme: my community and the places around me

In this exciting project, students will investigate various aspects of their local environment and community, building a strong foundation in geography. They will explore their home and school locations, learning about their immediate surroundings. Students will also identify and understand community landmarks, recognizing important places in their area.

A key component of the project involves studying maps and directions, developing essential navigational skills. They will discover landforms and natural features, appreciating the physical geography of their region. Furthermore, students will learn about community helpers and services, understanding the roles and contributions of people in their community. This project aims to connect students with their local world, fostering curiosity and knowledge.
